Its microcomputer controller tracks reactive power in real time and achieves stable compensation above 0.95, with a response time as fast as 20 ms. The cabinet provides multiple protection functions and supports communication for power monitoring.

Optional Power Distribution Network Monitoring Function

• Real-time measurement and hourly recording of three-phase voltage, current, frequency, active power, reactive power, power factor, active energy, and reactive energy on the low-voltage side of the transformer.

• Total harmonic distortion (THD) of voltage and current, as well as individual harmonic contents from the 2nd to the 25th order.

• Equipped with RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces, supporting data reading via PDA, as well as remote communication for wireless meter reading, device testing, parameter setting, and retrieval of real-time and recorded data.

• Data analysis functions include operating load analysis, statistical queries, comprehensive evaluation of power supply quality, calculation of voltage qualification rate, power supply load rate, reliability rate, and maximum load rate, as well as queries of power factor, active power, and reactive power by time period. Intelligent reactive power controller: This component is the "brain" of the compensation device, monitoring reactive power and power factor in real time and issuing switching commands.

Power capacitors: core compensation elements that generate reactive power. Modern designs mainly use dry-type self-healing capacitors, which outperform traditional oil-filled types.

Working Principle

The controller inside the cabinet continuously monitors the voltage and current signals of the grid, calculating reactive power and power factor in real time.

When the power factor falls below a preset target value (for example, 0.95), the controller automatically switches one or more capacitor banks through the switching devices.

Because capacitor current leads voltage, the capacitive reactive current offsets the lagging reactive current of inductive loads, thereby raising the grid power factor to the target value and achieving local reactive power balance.

This closed-loop automatic control process ensures that the GGJ cabinet accurately tracks load changes while avoiding both over-compensation and under-compensation, keeping the grid in an efficient operating state.
