What are the product features of the XGN15-40.5 Ring Main Unit?
1. Modular four-compartment design: The unit consists of four clearly separated sections: the switchgear compartment, the fuse compartment, the operating mechanism compartment, and the cable compartment (base frame). This layout simplifies maintenance and improves safety.
2. Robust sealed switchgear construction:The switchgear compartment is formed by a metal housing welded from 3L cold-rolled steel (or stainless steel). It contains all functional circuits, including the load switch, earthing switch, and internal busbars.
3. Vertical-motion load switch:The load switch operates with a vertically moving contact system. When closing, the moving contact travels downward to connect the circuit. Both main and arcing contacts are provided on the moving and fixed contacts, significantly increasing the number of safe breaking operations.
4. Powerful arc extinction: A self-blast (puffer) and inner-flow arc‑quenching structure is adopted. It ensures strong arc extinction without compromising phase‑to‑phase or phase‑to‑earth insulation.
5. Integrated earthing switch: The earthing switch consists of a moving blade and a fixed contact. It closes rapidly under spring force, ensuring reliable earthing.
6. Easy visual status checking: A viewing window on the front panel allows direct observation of the earthing switch position (open or closed). The top and rear of the switchgear compartment have four rectangular access holes for assembly and maintenance.
7. Pressure relief for safety: Safety Pressure Relief: The 33KV RMU MV Gas Insulated Ring Main Switchgear is equipped with an explosion-proof device at the rear to release pressure in the event of an internal arc fault.
8. Transformer protection with fuse-trip mechanism: The fuse compartment houses high‑voltage current‑limiting fuses within an epoxy‑cast insulating housing. When a fuse blows, a striker pin is ejected, which mechanically trips the load break switch – providing fast and reliable transformer protection.
9. Convenient operating mechanism layout: All controls are located on the front panel. Each functional circuit is equipped with a manual (or optional motor‑charged) spring‑operating mechanism for the load switch, and a manual spring‑operating mechanism for the earthing switch.
10. Clear user interface and indication: The front panel includes:
Rotary knobs for load switch closing, manual opening, and earthing switch operation.
Indicator lamps for load switch open/closed status.
Push buttons for electrical opening/closing (when motor drive is fitted).
A mimic diagram, position indication labels, and a padlockable position for added security.
